'People are intimidated' - the reasons 'juggernaut' Arsenal have become the squad everyone fears.

The evidence is unmistakable why Arsenal are now numerous fans' top picks to win the Premier League this season.

Look at their performances against West Ham and Crystal Palace versus those identical matches during the prior term.

The Gunners have beaten all of them in the current season, but dropped 10 points across those games as they fell away in the title race in the prior campaign.

Impenetrable Defense

Arsenal's defensive strength is a crucial element why they are appearing strong to at last realize their title ambition.

They lead the league for unbreached games (6), shots let in (3), shots faced (72), shots on target faced (19) and anticipated concessions (5.3).

The defensive partnership of Gabriel and William Saliba is arguably the finest in the league, with Arsenal keeping a clean sheet in six of their first nine games.

Dead-Ball Dominance

Their effectiveness from free kicks is highly documented, but rival sides still find it difficult to contain the Gunners from these chances.

They have scored 11 times from set-pieces in the league, two more than any other side, with 69% of their goals resulting from these situations.

"Arsenal can perform multiple roles now. The whole team has a fear factor. People are just afraid of them and it is wonderful to see."

Title Potential

What is even more remarkable about Arsenal's start to the campaign is they have also encountered Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United away from home and Manchester City in their own stadium - and are still leading by four at the top.

While they continue triumphing, their long-standing opponents are struggling. This marks the initial occasion at this point of the season since 1992 that none of Manchester City and United, Liverpool or Chelsea are in the Premier League top four.

The pressure was on head coach Mikel Arteta at the outset, having spent around £250m on eight summer acquisitions in pursuit of that coveted first title since 2004.

But the investment has so far paid off in style, with his side among the highest scorers in the league and boasting the tightest defense, despite numerous injuries.

  • Clean sheets in each of their last three Premier League games
  • Over six hours without conceding a goal
  • Only a handful of concessions in 12 games across every tournament

Former players and experts have described Arteta's men as a "powerhouse, looking hard to stop" with the whole club now functioning with belief and determination.
