Critical Role Campaign 4 Reveals the Soldiers Group

Since the launch of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with deep backstory, a wide array of heroes, and a thrilling plot showcasing celestial beings, demons, and dark forces expanding in power within the city.

Warning: Revealing details for the third episode of this adventure follow below.

The Warrior Group Unveiled

The latest chapter finished on a huge suspense moment and introduced the initial group of adventurers who will separate from the primary party to begin their own adventure, apart from the remaining groups.

The Soldiers table includes the determined fighter (brought to life by the voice actor), the agile character (Laura), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).

The Reason for Division

Considering 13 cast members, it was evident from the start that having everyone at a single group would be impossible.

That’s why, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, weaving together the personal journeys before dividing into three separate parties: Fighters, Strategists, and Explorers.

Characteristics of the Soldiers Table

Per the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for participants who prefer a traditionally charged fight-heavy story mode where peaceful solutions are few and far between.

At first glance, characters like the squeamish cleric the cleric might look out of place, but the actions of the latest installment demonstrate why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.

Why They Must Go

For one thing, the group understands precisely where to proceed after a intense first encounter with The Crow Keepers.

A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose death started the campaign’s events—exploited the enemy for his own means, invading the secret base, striking the rogue, and taking all the magical artifacts to auction.

Casimir then cleared his liabilities and fled to a secure base in the northern region, above the city, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.

Character Drivers

Moreover, each adventurer has a personal reason to depart Dol-Makjar:

  • Thimble, as the companion and trusted friend, wants revenge.
  • Kattigan knows the northern area and warns that it is a dangerous environment.
  • The strong character and The cleric, having defied his house’s orders to execute Teor and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
  • However, their reputation as key figures in House Halovar could assist the group reach locations they normally couldn’t.
  • Furthermore, The fighter vowed a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his rescue and will now accompany him wherever.

Pursued by Authorities

Finally, all of them are hunted by the powers that control the setting for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally dangerous:

  • The agile adventurer and The hero are known criminals.
  • Tyranny and The cleric turned against the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
  • Teor is marked for death by House Halovar.

This leaves them no alternative but to journey toward the northern region in search of the antagonist.

Future Episodes

According to the recent installment’s Cooldown, we find out that the combat party will be absent next week, leaving the other eight cast members to round up the Seekers and Planners groups.

Viewers can expect finding out which characters will be in which group in the season’s concluding setup installment, streaming live on the upcoming Thursday.
